July 21 - Office Meat

I have a collection of various meat themed objects in my office so I made a bit of a display. My T Bone lunch box, sausage tape, bacon band aids, bacon water bottle and bacon jelly beans. I didn't realize utntil just now I forgot the bacon scented air freshener.

July 16 - Tomato Progress

We have 4 kinds of heirloom tomatoes growing in our garden this year that we started from seeds. They are making some great progres snow that the weather is getting warm. The cages we got for them were pretty colorful so I thought they made for a great opportunity for a photo.

July 10 - New Xbox 360

My old Xbox has started to conk out (something to do with the DVD drive). I figured it was time to get a new one, and lo and behold the new slims came out. I really like the sleek new lines. I figured I had better get a shot before this one gets all smudged, dusty and rife with hound hair.

July 9 - Lamp and Wood Paneling

My wife and I went out to dinner in order to get a little air conditioning. I liked the look of the wood paneling against the lamp. I tried to expose the lam just enough to get the light but not the bulb. It was toughto not blow out the rest of the scene too much. Especially with other diners thinking I was a spy or paparazzi taking photos inside the place.

I do a lot of cooking at home and we have a cupboard full of various spices. I just can't understand people who get by with only pepper and salt. Spice variety is the... er... spice of life? Anyway, I liked this shot a lot.

July 5 - My Hero

My grandfather served in WW2 and was at Normandy. He drove a wrecker in the motorized infantry and had to pull all the incapacitated vehicles off the road to make way for the incoming troops during the invasion. After my mother passed away, I received a lot of his memorabilia including medals, release papers, and a photo scrapbook he kept of his time in Germany and France. Here is a shot of some of the mementos.

June 26 - Dog Wash

I took the two hounds to a dog washing shop. You bring in your dogs and wash them, but they supply everything and clean up after you. It's sort of like a car wash with a hose that rinses, sprays shampoo and conditioner and all. They were pretty tolerant of it until we got to the drying phase. This was the best shot I could get while wrangling two dogs.

June 12 - Chef DJ Macintyre of Seastar

I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon with a great chef, DJ Macintyre of the Seattle restaurant Seastar. We went shopping at Pike Place Market, then went back to the restaurant where we cooked up a meal in the kitchen with a few friends and ate and chatted for a few hours. He shared a lot of great knowledge and has an amazing pallete. If you are ever in the Seattle area definately check out the restaurant. You won't regret it.

Seattle is a test market for Amazon Fresh. It's a service that allows you to shop online for your groceries and have them delivered to your door within a few hours to 1 day. It's worked out fantastically so far. I also love how the crates are like giant Lego bricks.
