I set up this blog to share a picture a day for 365 days. My main drive was to force me to take photos daily to improve my overall output. I will be trying out new techniques, polishing up on my existing abilities, and sometimes just posting shots of my daily life.
Note this page is optimized for resolutions above 1280X1024. If you are looking at the site with a lower resolution some of the landscape orientation photos may be cut off. If you click on the photo itself it will take you to my Flickr site where you can view the photos at different sizes.
Another game shot. This time the great board game Ticket to Ride. One of our favorites where you build cross country railroads and finish specific routes.
My wife, Sistaer in Law and I went to Pike's Place Market this weekend and I saw this awesome looking busker. I tipped him a few bucks for his picture.
I have six alternates (including a B&W of the busker) on Flickr
Today's shot was of my collection of hand carved chopsticks I picked up in Singapore. I used the fabric holders for a bit of color. they are a bit worn from use so not as smooth and shiny as they used to be.
Today at work I came across a Ferrari F430 in the parking lot. Not sure what it is with all of the sports cars lately. The sunny weathers seems to bring them out.
I came across the bones of this abandoned truck in a field near my house anf the field has done its best to start reclaiming it. About 8 years ago there was an antique truck in the same spot that started to rust a bit. I can only assume this is the corpse of that same truck. The contrast between the moss and rust was one of the selling points for me.
My friend Candice has the picture of one of these little marshmallow bunnies on her IM icon and it gave me an idea. What if all these inedible little guys became sentient and organized themselves.
My wife suggested I go try tome shots of the night sky. There was a pretty cool waxing moon out tonight tso I thought I'd try these out. It was my first attempt at night sky shots. This was taken fairly close to my house from inside of a park with a little less light pollution than my neighborhood.

An apartment complex near my home has a funky fountain. I thought I would go try to grab a long exposure. Without a ND filter I was only able to get so much water smoothness. I was using my circular polarizer to reduce some of the light.
I went to lunch in the Commons today and there was a Leprechaun giving out chocolate for St Patrick's day. He was kind enough to let me take a few photos of him.
It was a beautiful sunny day here in Washington. As I was making my way to one of the work buildings for a meeting I noticed someone drove his/her Lamborghini to work. I figured it was an optimal picture moment so I snapped off a few on my way in. I'm glad I stopped on my way to the meeting because by the time I left it was already gone.
We had some of our good friends over Saturday and played a game called Who What Where which is sort of a more advanced twist on Pictionary. Here are some of the fruits of our labor.
While out for the afternoon with my wife, I took a shot of some mini daffodils. I tried overexposing slightly to create a different feel to the picture. Super bright, high contrast, plus a shallow depth of field.
After we got our taxes done tonight, my wife and I stopped by a local sushi place for dinner. I love the deep jewel tones and transluscent whites of good sushi.
Today I made a trip to the local blood center. Donating blood is something that I feel strongly about and I think not enough people take seriously. I thought I'd try to capture the bright white of the tech and the sterile environment against the deep red of the blood for a very dramatic contrast. The lab tech working with me was a really good sport.
An alternate shot of the apheresis machine I was on is located on Flickr.
It was a frigid spring day and I hoped to catch some birds fishing. Instead I came upon this rowing team practicing on Lake Sammamish. I can't imagine rowing in 45 degree weather.
I went to visit the Chateau Ste Michelle winery with a friend of mine today to take some photos and sample some wares. I really liked the colors in the layout of the wine shop display.
I stopped by Rattlesnake Lake in North Bend, WA while I was visitng a freind out that way. I plan on going by again for sunrise or sunset one of these days.
The street next to us is being repaved butfor some reason they parked their enormous apparatus in front of my house. I took a couple of shots of it. I chose this one for the shot of the day.
I stopped by the store at work and noticed the metallic waterbottles in the glass and lighted display case. I figured their shape and color with the reflections would make a good shot.
Two alternates on Flickr - basically just different angles of the same shot.
I stopped up to visit our neighbors and took some shots of Haley and Owen. I made this the shot of the day, but there is an alternate of Haley and a shot of Owen up on Flickr.
I am a Project Manager living in the Sammamish, WA area. I have been actively pursuing photography for the last 6 years when I started traveling for work. I shoot primarily Nikon (both bodies and lenses).
